MONTHLY MOMMY MUST-HAVE: COOLIT

The Brand
An icepack….in the shape of a bowl? That’s what The Coolit is. Carrie and Matt grew tired of always having to blow on their daughter’s food to cool it down. They grew tired of constant stress that was associated with family meal times. Until one night Carrie had an idea, “What if there was an icepack in the shape of a bowl that could quickly cool down food?” She mentioned the idea to her husband Matt that evening and The Coolit was born.

The Products
The Coolit is a bowl that you keep in your freezer until mealtime when you can take it out and place your child’s hot food in it and it will cool to just the right temperature in under one minute. It’s great for all hot food types, is top rack dishwasher safe, and it fits easily in any freezer.

The Reason
The main reason this is my Monthly Mommy Must-Have this month is because it really does work. Sometimes for lunch I give my kids hot dogs or chicken nuggets with the easy mac cup of macaroni. I mean these things only take three minutes to cook in the microwave but it seemed like after I pulled it out of the microwave I had to leave it in the freezer for about 10 minutes just so it could cool down enough to serve to my children. Needless to say, I was eager to see if The Coolit would make a difference and it definitely did. I simply poured their macaroni into The Coolit (images below), stirred it around a few times and it was ready to serve. So much better than blowing the food, my kids burning their mouths or having to leave the food in the freezer for 10 minutes to cool. Here are some pics of how easy it is to use (keep in mind that my freezer is on the fritz and my Coolit came out covered in ice but you get the point). The Coolit is available for $10 at thecoolit.com.

#MANIMONDAY - FUZZY COAT

The Scoop
For this week’s #ManiMonday post I left the nail wraps alone and picked up some polish instead. I purchased the Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat nail polish a few weeks ago and thought this might be a good time to give it a shot. I chose two different colors to put UNDER the Fuzzy coat which was a nude and a blue/aqua.

About Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat
The Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat line is made of a unique fiber texture that creates a 3D look on your nails. It comes in an array of multidimensional shades and dries quickly. It’s available in shade from a pale pink up to a black. You can wear them alone or over a complimentary color. I opted for a complimentary color.

The Look
The color I bought was ‘All Yarned Up’ which includes blue, orange, and yellow. The below pictures really don’t do it any justice because I really like the way the Fuzzy Coat nail polish took my normal/plain mani and upped the glam factor.  I do like the way the Fuzzy Coat looks against the nude color nail polish better than the aqua - what about you? I think I'd like to see how the black and white fuzzy coat polish looks up against a red for the coming fall/winter season.

WEEKLY STYLE LUST: EVERYTIME I COME AROUND YOUR CITY...

This week’s Weekly Style Lust is definitely in the luxe category. There’s something about these jewels that is just mesmerizing.

About House of Emmanuele
Houseof Emmanuele was created in 2003 by designer Emmanuele Tsakiris.
After obtaining a degree in Information Technology and Public Relations, Emmanuele entered the world of fashion by fate and unveiled his creative passion through glorious jewelry.

While attending University Emmanuele worked for Chanel as well as working in Public Relations for one of Australia’s largest Department Stores. His flair for computers started morphing into oversized pearls and crystal jewelry during his time at Chanel, and after a life changing event it furthered the metamorphosis.

Emmanuele’s mother Evdokia passed away in 2002 and at 25 years he found an ethereal muse who seemed to guide his path and inspire his designs into what they are today. Having had no formal training in jewelry his style is quite raw, regal, overstated and limitless. More is more and bigger is better and hence his love affair with Swarovski began!

The Lust…
I came across this picture on Instagram by @sydneyfashionblogger

First of all, let’s just say I hate her because her body is sick and her style is crazy. #ThatIsAll lol. But anywho…. Finding her page though led me to House of Emmanuele and just looking at the pieces I know they would be pretty expensive but considering the quality of the merchandise it seems completely justified. After perusing the site it looks like the prices range from as low as about $200 and goes up to about $2,000. But when your pieces look like this (see below)…hey I’ll just add it to my running list of lusts.
