#MANIMONDAY - FUZZY COAT

The Scoop
For this week’s #ManiMonday post I left the nail wraps alone and picked up some polish instead. I purchased the Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat nail polish a few weeks ago and thought this might be a good time to give it a shot. I chose two different colors to put UNDER the Fuzzy coat which was a nude and a blue/aqua.

About Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat
The Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat line is made of a unique fiber texture that creates a 3D look on your nails. It comes in an array of multidimensional shades and dries quickly. It’s available in shade from a pale pink up to a black. You can wear them alone or over a complimentary color. I opted for a complimentary color.

The Look
The color I bought was ‘All Yarned Up’ which includes blue, orange, and yellow. The below pictures really don’t do it any justice because I really like the way the Fuzzy Coat nail polish took my normal/plain mani and upped the glam factor.  I do like the way the Fuzzy Coat looks against the nude color nail polish better than the aqua - what about you? I think I'd like to see how the black and white fuzzy coat polish looks up against a red for the coming fall/winter season.

#MANIMONDAY - INNI CUSTOMIZABLE NAIL WRAPS

The Scoop
For this week’s #ManiMonday post I’m wearing a brand that has been newly introduced to the U.S. called, INNI. What is truly unique about these nail wraps is that YOU create your own designs; they are completely customizable. If you aren’t the most creative when it comes to things like this, no sweat, you can simply choose from their catalog of customizable nail wraps already created by others on their website.

About INNI Nail Wraps
These wraps are like gel polish but better because they last up to 14 days without chipping or peeling even in water or hot temperatures. The wraps are created from an extremely durable and flexible vinyl which allows you to stretch the wraps to cover the entire nail surface for a flawless wrinkle-free manicure. To remove the wraps simply peel off – no polish remover necessary.(from Inni)

I think these nail wraps have quickly become my favorite nail wrap brand which is tough because I’ve been such a huge fan of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects since they released about three years ago. There are several factors that come into play for me saying this:

     1.      Because these nail wraps are not made of real nail polish but the durable vinyl as explained above it gives you room for error. For instance, on my right index finger I just couldn’t get it lined up right for the life of me. I was able to remove the wrap several times and reapply it without breaking or ripping the wrap like I had done with my Salon Effects nail wrap last week.
     2.      Each set comes with 30 wraps in 12 sizes which means it will fit an array of nail sizes. You guys know I talk about how large my nail beds are all the time but this set I found, was the closest to covering my full nail beds. I still have space on the sides of some of my nails (thumb, middle, and ring) but not nearly as much as the typical nail wrap sets.
     3.      In addition to being able to upload any image you want or to create your own design from scratch, because so many users have already created a ton of designs you can simply go through the latest created designs and find one that you like if you don’t want to create your own.
     4.      The last thing that I love about these is the price. For $9.90 you get the 30 wraps AND free shipping. And if you love switching up your nail designs often you will definitely want to become a subscriber and receive 3 nail wrap sets per month for $19.90 (that’s buy two get one free!).

One thing that I think the brand should offer which it currently doesn’t is the ability to have one nail wrap set with a different design for each finger (so think one set with five different designs). Hopefully they will come up with that in the future.

The Look
When I received the nail wraps set it simply looked like a design that was printed on paper. It reminded me of what a picture looks like when you print your pictures at a Kodak kiosk. BUT, don’t be discouraged because after I applied the nail wraps to my nails the design really popped. One issue that does come up when you are dealing with nail wraps that are not made of real nail polish is the “bubbling” effect. This mostly occurs around the edges of the nails. With these I still had a little bubbling but not as much as I have had with other nail wrap brands. To avoid this bubbling try stretching the nail wrap as much as you to ensure it’s covering the nail properly and then when you are filing away the excess be sure to file DOWN and not side to side.

#MANIMONDAY - CAVIAR DREAMS

The Scoop
I guess I got too ahead of myself last week. I got cocky because I was on time with my #ManiMonday post and now look at me, posting #maniMonday on Tuesday. I am shamed…lol. But it’s sort of a good thing because now I can share how the mani has been holding up. So let’s just jump right into it…

The Product
This week I tried Rock Beauty’s Nail Rock Nail Caviar in “Venus”. I’ve been meaning to try the caviar mani for a minute so I’m glad I finally got my hands on one. This set come with a tin of “caviar” beads and a nail color that compliments the color of the beads. I was surprised at the formula and application of the nail polish. I wasn’t expecting anything great because I assumed you’d really just be paying for the beads but I was pleasantly surprised by the polish. The brush was perfect – it’s sort of a mix between a flat brush and a round brush. It picked up the perfect amount of polish. The polish was not streaky and it dried pretty quickly. I would have been content simply wearing the polish by itself – but I was on a mission.

So in order to achieve the 3D caviar look you have to apply two coats of the nail color (I’m still using my Probelle Nail Hardener as a base coat as well), dip your fingers into the beads and then press firmly. After all of the steps were complete I was really happy with the way it turned out (see pics below). But now that I’m writing this post two days later I can say that I would not recommend this type of manicure if you want to rock it as your weekly manicure. It’s perfect to add a touch of glam for a night on the town – think birthday, New Years, etc. It’s two days later and 70% of my beads have already fallen off so it’s definitely not meant to last but still looks cool none the less.

It also come in a color called ‘Jupiter’ which is gold and I think would be perfect for a holiday party.

The Look
Overall, I really liked the finished product, I couldn’t stop staring at my nails when I was done. But like I said I definitely do not recommend this as an everyday manicure – but if you have a special occasion coming up it would be perfect. The set is pretty well priced at $8/pack which is good considering you can get one nail polish for that price. What do you ladies think? Have you tried the caviar nails yet? What brand did you use and how long did it last?

Other News: Probelle Progress Report
In other news, as you guys have noticed from all of my #ManiMonday posts I’ve been using the Probelle Nail Hardener for about 4-5 weeks now. The first 3 weeks I kept clipping my nails down short every week. Week four is when I started to file and shape them instead of clipping them down. I decided to do this so that my nails could get stronger first before I started trying to grow them out. Check out my nails this week…

So far I like what my nails are doing. The only issue I have had has been with my thumbs. I don’t know what the problem is or was but for those first three weeks my nails kept breaking on the sides so for my thumbs I really had no choice but to keep clipping them down to try to correct the damage. Right now my thumbs are shorter than all of my other nails but overall they are a lot stronger and I can see a notable difference in the whites of my nails as well.
