WEEKLY STYLE LUST: HELMER & SOPHIA

This week I really couldn’t decide which brand(s) I was lusting after more. I had a third brand but you know I’m all about visuals and I didn’t like how it looked next to these beauties. First up is Sophia Webster…

About…Sophia Webster
Sophia Webster debuted her collection for SS13 after working as design assistant to Nicholas Kirkwood. She is a graduate of the specialised MA footwear course at the Royal College of Art and the BA degree at the renowned Cordwainers College.

Her academic career was highlighted by many awards, including the Cordwainers at London College of Fashion Award of Excellence (2008), the Drapers Student Footwear Designer of the Year (2009), and the Browns Shoe Designer Award (2010). Sophia was applauded for developing a commercially viable and unique aesthetic, incorporating feminine designs with a sophisticated and modern approach. Immediately following her graduation from the Royal College of Art, Sophia was appointed as the assistant designer to Nicholas Kirkwood.

The Lust…..
I really loved many of the shoes in Sophia’s collection but this one in particular, the MILA, called to me. What actually caught my eye and drove me to the brand was a picture I saw on IG of a Mommy & Me matching pair of shoes…

Currently there aren’t any children’s or “Mini” shoes available on the U.S. site but hopefully these IG posts mean they are in the works.

The other brand that caught my eye this week is Helmer and this is what did it…

About…Helmer
The HELMER brand is inspired and influenced by the various cultures and destinations the family has visited throughout numerous voyages. Their passion for travel and constant search of cultural novelty is the cornerstone for creating a handbag and accessory collection that would embrace craftsmanship, whilst offering a perfect balance between style, functionality, practicality and a fashionable insight into various cultures. The Lust…..
What attracted me so much to this bag is the vibrancy of the red. It also comes in three other colors (blue, orange, ivory) but there was just something about this red. It retails for $705 which is also why it’s a lust for this week.

What do you think about this week's Style Lusts? What are you lusting after this week?
