ALL OILED UP! - THE BENEFITS OF GETTING GREASED...

Recently there’s been a surge in facial oils and serums on the market; but do you really need them or is this just another way for big biz to get your money? My thoughts are…. YES! you do need them. The perceived benefits you will achieve from incorporating these highly concentrated wonders into your beauty regime is worth the price tag that most of these have. So what’s so special about these oils & serums anyway? Keep reading for the scoop….

The Scoop

Facial oils are nothing new to the market, but they are growing in popularity. I would say this “oil” craze started with the introduction of argan oil a few years ago. Since the success of argan oil companies have been looking for ways to maximize on the “oil” trend. But trend or not facial oils are definitely something that every woman should incorporate into their beauty routine. Essential oils are derived from botanicals which are full of antioxidants and form a protective barrier against harsh external elements. Facial oils nourish your skin with intense moisture for a brighter more radiant appearance.

What if I have oily skin?
Celebrity dermatologist, Dr. Gervaise Gerstner has this to say about facial oils and oily skin: “Facial oils should not cause oily skin to break out. Use a small amount at first to test," Dr. Gerstner advises. "The oils absorb instantly so the skin does not look greasy or shiny but rather has a sheer glow" (stylelist.com).

A facial serum is a highly concentrated clear gel beauty agent that’s typically used to target specific areas of concern on the face and neck. Facial serums can penetrate the skin quicker and deeper than that of heavy moisturizers because of its small molecular structure. Serums are known for having a light oil-free texture that can offer a higher concentration of vitamins and antioxidants than creams and moisturizers.
